Description
Herschel Walker is considered one of the greatest football players in college history. In three seasons, Walker recorded 5,259 rushing yards and 49 rushing touchdowns. In his freshman year, he helped the UGA Bulldogs go undefeated and claim a National Championship with a Sugar Bowl victory over Notre Dame — and in doing so found himself in third place in Heisman voting ranking. It wasn’t until his junior year in 1982 when he finally won the trophy, having been in the top three in Heisman voting every year he played — a feat no college player has since been able to match. This plaque displays a photograph of Herschel during the Heisman Trophy award ceremony — protected by an acrylic plate and adorned with a nameplate that reads “Herschel Walker – 1982 Heisman Trophy Winner.”
